Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 Grand Star Dreamer Laarni Lozada and 1st Runner Up, Bugoy Drilon will receive on October 4, a recognition from the Asian Star Entertainment Awards as the Most Promising Female and Male Performers of 2008 respectively. The Asian Star Entertainment Awards ceremony will be held at the Mandarin Suites in Gateway Mall.
Laarni Lozada recently signed a one-year recording deal with Star Records as part of her prize for winning as Grand Star Dreamer in PDA 2. Laarni Lozada looks forward to performing songs from various genres to prove her musical versatility. “Belter, classical singer, OPM, opera, iba’t iba pa. Incidentally, Laarni’s debut single is “Manalig Ka” and is enjoying good airplay on local AM and FM stations.
Laarni Lozada is the first PDA scholar from PDA Season 2 to get a record deal but she is not affected with the comparison with Bugoy Drilon.
Laarni Lozada is also being compared to PDA Season 1 Grand Star Dreamer, Yeng Constantino. Yeng Constantino has two hit albums under herbelt so far after winning the First Season of PDA. But Laarni Lozada is also unfazed, she said, “Normal lang po ‘yun (na i-compare kami) kasi siya ang Season 1 Grand Star Dreamer. Iba po ‘yung goal ko as a singer.
