Throwback Thursday: Miko Sotto Fell From The Eighth Floor of Condominium Unit in 2003

With Liam Payne's demise from falling from the third floor of a hotel in Palermo, Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the age of 31. We can't help but recall Miko Sotto, son of actress, tv host and radio broadcaster Ali Sotto and part of the prominent Sotto family in showbiz, his father being Maru Sotto, brother of former Senator Vicente "Tito" Sotto III, Val Sotto and Vic Sotto
In December 29, 2003, Miko Sotto fell from the eighth floor of San Francisco Garden Plaza Condominium, a condo along Boni Avenue in Mandaluyong City where he had been staying for 4 years.

According to the police investigation, Miko Sotto was with his cousin Oyo Boy Sotto, two other friends, and a maid at the condo. A security guard saw Sotto seated at the railings of the balcony. When his friends was about to leave, he tried to get down from the railings when his foot allegedly got caught in a planter, causing him to lose his balance and fall from his balcony at 4:50 a.m.

Miko Sotto was immediately rushed to the nearby Mandaluyong City Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival. The physician on duty at the hospital declared the cause of death as: "The patient died from multiple skull fracture." From Mandaluyong, Sotto was brought to Makati Medical Center but doctors there were also unable to revive him.

Ali Sotto donated Miko's corneas to the Eye Bank of the Philippines at the time of his death. His mother met one of the recipients thereafter.
